The Cloud Carriers
On Wednesday, April 24th 2021, the skyline of Brussels changed.
It was the day the monumental artwork ‘In the cloud’ of the Belgian artist Luk Van Soom landed on the roof of Espace Jacqmotte.
Visual artist Luk Van Soom has left his mark on the Brussels skyline with a monumental silver-coloured cloud on top of the roof of a renovated former coffee factory in the heart of the Marolles. It is a temporary installation.
In the Cloud is an aluminum work of art no less than 7.5 meters long, supported by three pairs of bronze legs, each 2.5 meters high. The effect is impressive, in particular in interaction with the nearby Palace of Justice.
